Local reports out of South Carolina say there was a shooting at Townville Elementary School in Townville that injured two students and a teacher. WYYF 4 news in South Carolina reports that Lieutenant Sheila Cole with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office confirmed that there was a shooting at the school. Citing authorities, the Associated Pressreported the shooter shot and killed his father at their home before heading to the elementary school for the shooting at about 1:45 p.m.

According to WYFF's reports, two students and one female teacher were injured. One of the students, identified by the AP as Jacob Hall, is in critical condition, while the other student and the teacher, still unnamed, were treated and released. Sheriff's deputies told WYFF that they have the teenage suspect in custody.

The Anderson County Coroner's Office investigated the death of a man whose body was found just over three miles from Townville Elementary as possibly connected to the shooting at the school, according to WYFF. The man was later identified by authorities as the shooting suspect's father 47-year-old Jeffrey Osborne.

WYFF reports that law enforcement arrived to the school before 2 p.m. in response to the shooting. Students were evacuated to nearby Oakdale Baptist Church, where parents were told to come pick up their children.

A press release from the Oconee County Sheriff's Office says it has been assisting Anderson County in the investigation. "I have spoken with Sheriff John Skipper in Anderson County and have offered to make available any resources and assistance from the Oconee County Sherrif's Office that he needs as the investigation continues," Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw said in the release.
