The guy who lost 25 pounds while playing Pokémon Go might have impressed you, but wait 'til you meet Pasquale Brocco, previously known as "Fat Pat," who lost over 300 pounds by walking to Walmart daily.

31-year-old Brocco toldABC as a kid he had nicknames like "Fat Pat," "Fatty Patty," and "Pat Steaks" because he was so big. Three years ago, when Brocco weighed 605 pounds, he made the change that would lead to his life-saving weight loss after a scary trip to the doctor.

"He said, 'It's possible that you might die,'" Brocco toldABC. "It really hit home." That day he went home and took a photo of himself before deciding to throw out all of the food in his house and forcing himself to walk to Walmart every time he was hungry. That meant a one mile walk to Walmart to get his meal and a one mile walk back home to eat it. He did that for three meals a day—walking six miles daily. He lost 200 pounds within the first year and a half.

Brocco said he adjusted his diet even more by cutting out dairy, leading to even more weight loss. Before implementing the Walmart walks and the new diet, Brocco was reportedly consuming about 11,200 calories a day. A typical pre-weight loss day could consist of Brocco eating 100 fast food chicken nuggets as detailed in the diet below.

  • Box of cereal
  • 1/2 gallon whole milk
  • 1 package peanut butter cups
  • 1 candy bar
  • 12-inch meatball and cheese submarine sandwich
  • 100 fast food chicken nuggets
  • 1 fast food apple pie
  • 1 fast food milkshake
  • 2 liters soda
  • 4 doughnuts

Nowadays, his daily calorie intake is 2,250 calories. He's lost a total 330 pounds and has gone from having 53 percent body fat to 10 percent body fat. He's also training to be a bodybuilder.
