As you're probably well aware, the augmented reality game Pokémon Go has sent the smartphone-toting world into a complete and unavoidable frenzy. Since the app's launch, there has also been no shortage of wonderfully weird and insane experiences related to the game. Bosses have reprimanded employees for playing the game during work hours, some trainers wandered into a police station in search of the digital creatures, and one Wyoming teenager stumbled across a dead body in a river on her hunt for more critters. And so the saga continues: last night, a Vaporeon spotting in Central Park caused a full-fledged stampede of Pokémon trainers desperate to catch 'em all.

Last night at around 7:45 p.m. EST, the Vaporeon spotting in Central Park caused a huge ruckus to erupt as Pokémon Go players rushed to capture the coveted creature. In the video below you can see people running through traffic to capture it, and one guy even gets out of his car to join the crowd. "Look at this! There's a Vaporeon right there so everyone's running," someone says.

This particular water Pokémon, which evolves from the more commonly-captured Eevee, is one of the rarest Pokémon in the game. Eevee has several final forms—including Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon—but the sought-after Vaporeon is particularly special. If you were previously unaware of just *how* special this particular Pokémon is, perhaps the raw footage of the stampede will give you a better idea. Train responsibly, everyone.
