Parking tickets are no match for this robot lawyer that's defeated 160,000 tickets and counting. The robot was made by 19-year-old Stanford student Joshua Browder, who was born in London. He created the DoNotPay service featuring the robot lawyer after getting 30 parking tickets as an 18-year-old in London and its surrounding areas, The Guardian reported.

DoNotPay allows users to chat—free of charge—with a robot that answers questions about the parking violation they want to challenge. Users interested in seeking the free legal advice just need to log on to donotpay.co.uk. Browder toldVenture Beat DoNotPay has helped overturn 160,000 of 250,000 tickets it's been consulted on.

DoNotPay first launched in London and became available to New York City in March. Since its NYC debut, Browder said it's been used over 9,000 times by New Yorkers. Browder has plans to make it available in Seattle this fall.

"I think the people getting parking tickets are the most vulnerable in society," Browder toldVenture Beat. "These people aren't looking to break the law. I think they're being exploited as a revenue source by the local government."

Browder is already working on other endeavors, including a bot that will help people living with HIV understand their legal rights and a bot to help refugees apply for asylum. The latter will reportedly use IBM's Watson to translate Arabic to English.
