Footage Released Of Shopkeeper Brutally Beaten Down By Teenage Girl Gang In Auckland

The group of six teens left the store employee with severe face and eye injuries.

Footage released from early April shows a female shopkeeper being brutally beaten by a group of teenage girls in her Auckland convenience store, NZ Heraldreports.

The CCTV footage sees the six teenage attackers, some wearing masks, pull down the Hari Superette’s roller door and set upon the shopkeeper. One member of the gang punches and kicks her into submission, while the others steal money, food and cigarettes.

At one point, the teenager appears to slam the shopkeeper’s head in a door, and even attempts to curb stomp the victim, despite the employee’s plea to the gang to take whatever they wanted.

“I had face injuries, I was badly bruised and had bad eye injuries,” the woman said, preferring to remain nameless. At this stage, the shopkeeper is still taking painkillers for her injuries.

Rising demand for black market cigarettes is believed to be the motivation behind a spate of violent robberies in the Auckland area, including this one. Police have urged anyone with information on the girls in the video–who are thought to be 16 to 18 years old–to come forward.

You can take a look at the footage above, but be warned – it’s pretty damn brutal.
