Police Investigate Mysterious Explosion, Fire at Melbourne Strip Club Kittens

Got the club goin' up, on a Tuesday.

Kittens Strip Club's Caulfield location has reportedly been destroyed after a mysterious explosion overnight.

The strip club in Melbourne's inner south eastern suburbs was subject to an unexplained explosion at around 3am this morning. The blast rocked the venue, lighting it up in flames and blowing out windows.

"There was lots and lots of smoke billowing and people were being evacuated from the next-door flats and the road was blocked off until they could get it under control," an anonymous caller told Melbourne talk back radio station 3AW.

Reports suggest there were men 'acting suspiciously' outside the venue before the explosion. Thankfully, Kittens was closed and nobody was injured. It was 3AM on a Tuesday after all, which isn't exactly the time to catch the club's finest dancers.

The explosion follows recent shootings at Kittens' South Melbourne location in November and January. Anti-gangs division police have suggested the incidents are related to simmering tensions between the club and bikie gangs.
